Veterinary Dentistry

Comprehensive dental care for your pets, delivered with the utmost care and precision.

Professional Cleanings

Preventative care is the foundation of a long, healthy life. We perform thorough dental evaluations and deep cleanings to remove tartar and plaque, ensuring your pet's mouth stays healthy. Up to 80% of dental disease lies underneath the gums, making it impossible to recognize without anesthesia and advanced dentistry equipment. While non-anesthesia cleanings may temporarily make the teeth look better to the naked eye, they often fail to diagnose the deeper issues within the gums and teeth. Our comprehensive approach ensures that we catch disease early in the process, making treatment easier and less expensive in the long run.

Extractions

When dental issues arise, we provide expert extraction services. Our team ensures a comfortable and stress-free experience for your pet, focusing on pain management and recovery.

Advanced Dental Techniques

We utilize advanced surgical techniques like local nerve blocks, deep gingival pocket evaluations, gingival flap creation, diamond bur alveolar bone resection, gentle/non-traumatic tooth root extraction, and careful appositional tissue closure using high-quality absorbable suture material to ensure your pet has the best possible outcome after their oral surgery.

Home Dental Care Guidance

At-Home Dental Care

While daily brushing is still the best way to prevent tartar buildup, we understand that this is simply not possible for some patients. We recommend a multimodal approach to at-home dental care including brushing as often as possible, water additives and dental chews such as Greenies or Dentastix.

Safe Toys

Choose chew toys that are safe for your pet's teeth and gums. Avoid hard bones, antlers, or rawhide that can cause dental damage, especially in strong chewers. One of the most common reasons for tooth extractions are tooth fractures caused by excessive chewing of these items.

Signs of Dental Issues

Severe dental disease can cause signs like bad breath, drooling, difficulty chewing, facial swelling, or pawing at the mouth. However, more subtle signs such as behavioral or personality changes, or a change in eating habits/preferences can also be a sign of dental issues. Early intervention is key to a healthy, happy pet.
